About the Role
We're looking for a Defence Security Officer to lead the operational implementation of security policies aligned with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP). In this pivotal role, you'll manage complex security matters, oversee sensitive materials and procedures, and guide university stakeholders on compliance, all within a collaborative, future-focused research environment.
This role is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of government or industry security requirements who is ready to influence national outcomes through applied university research and partnerships.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
- Proven skills and experience in successfully leading and managing complex ongoing security projects with a strong commitment to stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop initiatives and solutions informed by comprehensive quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Proven administrative skills with the ability to handle confidential issues responsibly.
- Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage complex tasks with a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
- High-level computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office software, databases and project management software.
- High-level communication, influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to build productive relationships within the organisation and externally.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of Australian government or industry security requirements.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Relevant qualification and/or relevant industry experience.
- The holder of this role must be an Australian citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1.
