The Position
This is a key role in the newly established Melonek Group, located within the Division of Plant Sciences at the Research School of Biology, ANU College of Science and Medicine.
With no two days being the same, this Postdoctoral Fellow position is central to delivering the research outcomes outlined in the ARC Future Fellowship Project grant ‘Unlocking Secrets of Fertility Restoration for Hybrid Breeding in Crops’. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work closely with the project’s Chief Investigator, Dr Joanna Melonek, and will be actively involved in experimental design, data analysis, and dissemination of findings through publications and presentations.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and dynamic research environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. This position offers an excellent platform for career development in plant molecular biology, genomics, and crop biotechnology.
The Person
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral plant scientist with a strong background in plant genomics and the analysis of large datasets. Experience in molecular plant biology will be considered an advantage but it is not necessary.
We are looking for someone who likes challenging problems and encourages team members and colleagues to workshop effective solutions.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team addressing fundamental questions in plant biology with real-world applications in crop improvement.
